    What is Gutenberg?

“Gutenberg” is a codename for a whole new paradigm in WordPress site building and publishing, that aims to revolutionize the entire publishing experience as much as Gutenberg did the printed word. Right now, the project is in the first phase of a four-phase process that will touch every piece of WordPress — Editing, Customization, Collaboration, and Multilingual — and is focused on a new editing experience, the block editor.

The block editor introduces a modular approach to pages and posts: each piece of content in the editor, from a paragraph to an image gallery to a headline, is its own block. And just like physical blocks, WordPress blocks can added, arranged, and rearranged, allowing WordPress users to create media-rich pages in a visually intuitive way — and without work-arounds like shortcodes or custom HTML.

    What are Blocks?

“Blocks” are sections of content on a website, for example, images, videos, paragraphs, etc. Buba Blocks is a series of ‘Blocks’ of the new WordPress block editor, Gutenberg.

    Working with Blocks

The Gutenberg editor has only recently appeared and is constantly being updated, so not all the features of our plugin are currently available, but they will be constantly expanded over time. We recommend updating the plugin when updates are released.

We also added 3 ready-made section templates: Hero, CATS and Review.

To add them, click Add block -> Patterns->Sections and select the appropriate one.

The details are shown in the screenshot below.

Adding a new block to the editor

Click on the ( + ) sign once and a window will appear with a list of available blocks. If you enter buba, the available blocks and patterns of the Buba Blocks plugin will appear. You can also find them in the search bar by entering the name in part or in whole. Click on the required block to use it.

One of the main advantages of the Gutenberg editor is to see the elements and their display and at the same time style them in live mode. When you add a block, you will see the placeholder block and a menu with settings.

    Changing block settings

Each block has its own settings, which can be in the Inspector. Inspector is a sidebar panel that appears when you click on each of your blocks. As you can see in the screenshot, we have different settings for each block.

The settings for each block are unique, even if there are several of them on the page. The settings are applied to the selected block. This allows you to use the same block many times with different settings.

    Block alignment settings

Some blocks have a position setting and it is available at the top above the blocks. This setting allows you to align elements on the X-axis.
