Youth is destined to be lost, but the when and how of the loss remains unknown to us. Yet, Pushkin has already arranged the fate of his characters through the naming, characterization, preference for literary genres of them. None of the endings of the characters are incidental.
Neither of them are sensitive to nature, and nor do they have the indigenous understanding of nature through observation that a mature romantic poet or hero has. Although Lensky harbors feelings towards nature, his feelings are superficial. Nonetheless, this vigorous vitality, albeit superficial, is something that Onegin is lack of.
The moment Pushkin sets Lenksy up as a young and superficial romantic poet, he has already predicted his ending. He could only die at a young age, and for love.
The character of the heroine Tatyana is flexible in that she can make alterations in face of changes. For example, after she visits the bleak library of Onegin, and reads the books that he reads, which enables her to enter his spiritual world, she finds out that the image of Onegin in her heart only exists in her imagination. Hence, when she finds out that everything is just an illusion, she makes a move to approach reality.
